Pigmented Lesions Treatments

Melasma is a condition that appears as dark pigmented spots in the face mainly of women. It is caused due to a hyperproduction of melanin in women with polycystic ovarian syndrom or other hormonal imbalancies, during pregnancy or during intake of contraceptive tablets.

Other types of pigmentary disorders are lentigo solares (sun spots), postinflammatory hyperpigmentations and freckles.

Depending on the type of the lesion treatment can be performed with laser, local or oral agents.
