Psoriasis is a very common autoinflammatory skin disease that affects 1-3% of the population. It affects men and women equally and the typical affected areas are the knees, the ellbows, the nails, the scalp and the trunc.

A 20-40% of the psoriatic patients develop during the disease also inflammation in the joints, the psoriatic arthritis.

Prompt diagnosis and treatment is important for the control of the disease.
