Atopic Dermatitis/Eczema

The allergic skin diseases are atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis and irritative dermatitis.

The atopic dermatitis is one of the most common skin diseases which co-exists with allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis and allergic conjuctivitis. It usually appears in infant life and the early childhood with outbreaks and remissions. The most common symptom is severe pruritus (itch). Except from the genetic background diverse exogen factors like pollen and blossom play a significant role in the outbreaks of the disease. Additionally other exogen factors like latex, nickel and parfumes can cause contact dermatitis

A thorough medical history and clinical examination in combination with allergologic examinations can lead us in the aetiology of the disease.
