Necrosis from injectable hyaluronic acid (filler): What to watch out for?

Injectable treatments like botox and fillers are medical treatments and should be executed from specialists like dermatologists and plastic surgeons.

The treatments should be performed in medical practices where all the precautional measures for the avoidance of adverse reactions like allergies and anaphylactic shock are taken.

During a wrong injection the filler can penetrate the vessel and block it. As the skin does not take enough oxygen a necrosis and scarring will occur. Immediate treatment of symptoms like pain, swelling and color change shoild alarm you to seek medical advice.

The treatment aims to remove the hyaluronic acid particles that block the vessels with hyaluronidase. In order to be more precise skin ultrasound is used to find the blocked vessels.

Dr Christos Pallouras holds a master degree in aesthetic medicine and has experience with skin ultrasound in order to treat such adverse reactions.

Injectable treatments should be a time to enjoy the result so trust your specialist.
